Call of Duty: Iron Wolf is in Development for “New Console”

In an investors meeting, Activision Blizzard CEO, Bobby Kotick, stated that two highly anticipated games are in the works: Diablo III and CoD9.
They announced that CoD9 will follow suit and be made by Treyarch, who recently got an opening for a game scripter and multiplayer level designer.

Via pictures from a Treyarch’s friends list, the game has been codenamed “Iron Wolf,” giving fans the impression that this will be an all new game instead of an extension of previous titles. However, some believe that since “Wolf” was once Sergeant Viktor Reznov’s nickname, it will actually be a continuation, but I happen to disagree. A quick look back at Treyarch’s Call of Duty game’s include Call of Duty 3 in 2006, World at War in 2008, and Black Ops in 2010, all of which being very highly successful.

According to Treyarch’s jobs listings, they are looking for someone to help in “bringing our hugely successful game to a new console” that can “adapt graphics and other major systems in our engine to a new platform.” As for what this new console might be, some are saying Wii U  while others say that a new Xbox 360 will be unveiled. However, in a senior meeting inside Sony, one man said that the PlayStation 4 will be announced down the road.

What time period do you think “Iron Wolf” could cover, and what is this “new console”? Will we go into the universe, like their recent map ‘Moon,’ on a PlayStation 4, or will we keep it close to Earth on a Wii U? Let us know in the comments below.
