According to a CNET report, longtime Microsoft general manager of design Don Coyner is “no longer leading the design and experience group for Xbox,” being replaced by Emma Williams. As General Manager of Xbox Experiences, she comes from the team behind the creation of the the most recent dashboard update that introduced the Windows Phone 7-style user interface to Microsoft’s console. In her new role, Williams reportedly will work on design and brand strategy, as well as being credited as a huge proponent of creating a unified design language for Microsoft’s as-yet-unannounced console’s launch. for Microsoft’s as-yet-unannounced successor to the Xbox 360.
We all know the recent rumors about how the next Xbox 360 would release as early as 2012 or as late as 2014, the latter seeming unlikely due to 1.7 million Xbox 360’s being sold last month alone in the United States. According to that CNET report, their sources say that the Xbox team confirmed the console’s debut to be in 2013.
In my own personal opinion, I would believe that they would unveil the console at E3 like they did for the Xbox 360S, but what new features do you think will be in the new console?
